Holy shit!!!
I didnt think it would be that good cuz the cover looked a bit underwhelming and the first few minutes didnt really catch me but its perfect.
While there still was some casual sexism / male centered content in the book it was basically way better than real life.
This book features a strong female character with a lot of depth to her story and character development enough to make the book about her.
Not just this but the whole book is about a team of people working for and against their own agendas with respect to another.
It is a book that you can not take lightley and it keeps you completely on your toes without doubt. It displays a danger which might seem not important today but with the advent of new technology like AI and other advancements, it seems as it might get very important very soon.
I personally would love to take nexus and be one of the first to join in constructing an operating system and let the world join in peace.
But as this is not fantasy but sci-fi it also shows what goverments would think about it and how they might act upon this new age... while I would love to question this display of goverments, I must say that it seems more than fitting for the current geopolitical state of the world.
Thank you Ramez Naam for creating such a beautiful and thoughtout world in which I was able to escape.
